DISQ owes its name to the training system used during the workout consisting of two discs by means of an adjustable strap attached to the hips which allow for adjustable, constant, two way resistance.

DISQ was invented by a Dutch, former national speed skater, Robbert Boekema, whose mother was an Olympiad in 1968. Coming from a family of speed skaters, Rob was trained in the art of working out and staying in shape. Whilst on a skiing vacation, the idea came to him for DISQ. A portable fitness device with constant, adjustable resistance that can be taken anywhere to perform a wide variety of exercises at any time.
