CookingSchools.com, A Directory of Culinary Colleges, Says The Key To Eating Healthy is to Cook More

In response to an article published by Fast Company, CookingSchools.com, a directory of culinary colleges, says cooking more is the key to staying healthy.

CookingSchools.com, an online directory of culinary colleges, discusses the benefits of cooking and how it can keep people eating healthier.

According to a January 17th Fast Company article titled “The Secret To Healthy Eating: Cook More,” cooking has the potential to change your life. In a new animated short, created by Kerry Hyndman and Damned Fine Media for RSA, the nature of the food industry is revealed. It’s narrator, Michael Pollan, “explains that the single factor predicting a healthy diet is whether your food is cooked by a human being versus being made by a corporation.”

The article says that food manufacturers and corporate food chains pack food with cheap preservatives and additives, which might boost flavor, but it also increases the amount of salt, sugar and fat. This contributes to the unhealthy eating behavior of many Americans.

Andrew Girard, a representative from CookingSchools.com, a directory of culinary colleges, says cooking is the only way people can be conscious of what they are eating. “Cooking your own food is the best way to be healthy,” he says. “It’s better than any diet. When you cook, you purchase your own fresh ingredients, free from additives, and you make each meal yourself. You can monitor what you put into the dish and how much you use. It’s the only way people can truly be healthy when it comes to food. If you want to live a healthier lifestyle, it’s best to learn how to cook for yourself.”

CookingSchools.com is the leading source for information on culinary degrees, culinary schools and cooking programs.
